Margaret is a Solicitor Advocate (civil) and a Partner in BKF’s court department. She is a highly experienced litigator with additional rights of audience to represent clients in the Court of Session and the Supreme Court. She specialises in civil litigation, media law and intellectual property. She is also qualified as a solicitor in England.
A key contributor to the firm’s media department, Margaret assists the firm’s many publishing clients on a daily and nightly basis on matters of defamation, contempt, Regulatory issues and privacy. She also advises newspapers, Colleges of Further Education, publishers, companies and individuals on issues of copyright, passing off, confidentiality and data protection.
As part of the court department she specialises in commercial litigation and family law.
In 2004 Margaret gained a Master’s Degree in Information Technology and Intellectual Property (with distinction) and is presently studying for a Master’s Degree in mediation and conflict resolution.
